Some new features in Version 2.0

Administration Tools— A new java applet for Group Account Management (GAM). Administrators for a domain can now be added through the Management Center. This allows you to delegate and distribute the most common administration tasks. Privileges can be customized per administrator, allowing for different levels of authority and control. You can restrict access to the message store, SMTP server and management center based on IP address. It is now easier to set user access rights such as account expiration date, account enable/disable, and account allowed login times.

Automatically Configures Eudora Email Clients— Setting up new users has never been easier; literally just a few clicks on the server is now all it takes.

High Performance LDAP Directory Server— WorldMail 2.0 contains a new, powerful LDAP server with tremendous performance improvements over version 1.0.

Simple to Use and Manage— Installs easily and requires very little administrator maintenance. Users can take advantage of web-based administration tools to manage their accounts, view account status, change passwords and create auto-reply and vacation messages - all without administrator intervention.

Easy Integration

Native to Internet— Open, standards-based client/server architecture easily integrates with off-the-shelf Internet-standards based applications and supports Internet-standards compliant email clients like Eudora Pro Email and Eudora Light.

Product Highlights

Ease of Administration— The WorldMail Management Center offers powerful server administration via its central and remote management facilities and easy-to-use interface.

Security— The Eudora WorldMail Server features built-in security features including APOP and CRAM-MD5 authentication facilities to avoid sending passwords over the network, multi-level access control and Windows NT security services.

Robust Functionality— Standards-based Internet messaging server seamlessly supports both Internet Messaging Access Protocol (IMAP4) and Post Office Protocol (POP3) clients for transparent migration and co-existence.

Help— Built-in online help facility and electronic documentation make operation of the server easy and convenient.

Remote Access— Remote management of the Eudora WorldMail Server is made possible through the WorldMail Management Center, which can be run on a Windows NT platform with network access to the WorldMail Server, so that servers can be administered remotely. Administrators can also use Java-based web tools to administer user accounts. The underlying management protocol is available and documented, so custom local scripts or applications can be developed to meet unusual needs.

Mailing Lists— Automated mailing lists using the List Management Agent allow users to subscribe and unsubscribe themselves from mailing lists through simple email messages to the mail system. The List Management Agent provides a range of automation and security options for your mailing lists.

Dial- on Demand Capabilities— Allow the administrator control over the servers use of valuable bandwidth and costly dial-up lines.

Directory Services— Centralized user information in an electronic directory stores user names, email addresses and other relevant information with access via Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) and Ph, the popular Internet "White Pages" protocols.

Automatic Directory Update— When users are added, modified, or deleted, the corresponding directory entry is updated.

Web/Directory Gateway— Permits users and administrators access to the WorldMail directory or any LDAP or X.500 directory server simply by using a web browser.

Outstanding Performance

Eudora WorldMail Server features industry leading performance. Fast, reliable and secure messaging services are optimized for the Windows NT platform.

User Account Management

Personal Account Manager— Administrators save time by letting users do trivial tasks on their own. The Personal Account Manager is a Java applet for use with standard Web browsers. It gives users the ability to change their passwords, create auto-reply and vacation notifications, and perform other account management tasks, freeing you, the administrator, to do more important things.
